Erasmus+ Project – Playing with maths

The Project aims to find new and innovative approaches for maths teaching for primary and middle school students whom at this age are curious, exploratory, interrogative and have a rich imagination.
Playing with Maths is an Erasmus Plus project which brings together 6 partners (Croatia, France 1, France 2, Greece, Portugal, Turkey)
We hope, through eTwinning, to share activities, ideas and games in order to learn from each other.

Distribution of tasks :  
France 1 Coordinating the project work (calendar, activities, writing reports etc.)

April 2021Online meeting between teachers from all participation school to discuss the new agenda Monitoring teams in each school will discuss about dissemination and budget.  May-June 2021Partners prepare the next meeting in Portugal. Local activities: Updating the project website, etwinning and social media platform. Partners will evaluate the ongoing partnership and prepare the next meeting in FRANCE. Local activities: Teachers will prepare 3 games for CULTURAL MATHS. Exchange of letters between students of different schools and Skype conference involving students who will participate in C1. FRENCH WEEK IN ALL SCHOOLS VIRTUAL MOBILITY IN PARTNER SCHOOLS OR OUTDOOR AREAS TO PERFORM GAMES in MATHEMATICS
September 2021FRENCH WEEK IN ALL SCHOOLS (exhibitions, lectures, food)
October 2021C1 IN CLERMONT-FERRAND, FRANCE Schools involved are Collège Albert Camus and Collège La Charme. Students from year 5 primary schools (reseau Rep+) will participate as well as local officials, newspapers, TV reporters. AFTER C1 Teachers translate mathematics lessons and exchanges them with other teachers Teachers and students who participated in C1, will exchange about new ways with their peers, about educational system they saw in FRANCE
November 2021Partners will prepare the next meeting in PORTUGAL. Local activities: Updating the project website, etwinning and social media platform. Teachers will prepare 3 games for FUN MATHS & MATHS ARTS PORTUGUESE WEEK IN ALL SCHOOLS (exhibitions, lectures, food) C2 IN FUNCHAL PORTUGAL
December 2021AFTER C2 Teachers translate mathematics lessons and exchanges them with other teachers UPDATING EBOOK AND NEWSLETTER Teachers and students who participated in C2, will exchange about new ways with their peers, about educational system they saw in PORTUGAL
January 2022Updating the project website, etwinning and social media platform. Monitoring teams in each school will discuss about: Dissemination (newspapers, elected officials) about activities done at school Greece creates the newsletter  
February 2022Skype meeting with all teachers to prepare next mobility and activities. Exchange of letters and skype conferences. All schools start creating MATHS PARKS in school gardens to sensitize youngers students. (France will invite primary school students and teachers) Partners prepare the next meeting in Greece. Teachers will prepare 3 games for Nature’s Mathematics Exchange of letters between students of different schools and Skype conference involving students who will participate in C3
March 2022GREEK WEEK IN ALL SCHOOLS (exhibitions, lectures, food) C3 IN XANTHI GREECE AFTER C3 Teachers translate mathematics lessons and exchanges them with other teachers Teachers and students who participated in C3, will exchange about new ways with their peers, about educational system they saw in Greece

For each mobility, each partner school will bring a lesson plan about maths games related to the theme. These will be gathered in the eBook.
